Throughout my life, the theatre arts have been a safe space to rely on in times of uncertainty. As a stage manager, I strive to foster the same stable environment for my fellow artists that helps us do our best to tell compelling and entertaining stories. Ultimately, storytelling is at the heart of my passion for this artform.
Whether I am running a rehearsal, communicating between departments, or on headset, I aim to remove barriers that might make it difficult for actors and designers to tell the story entrusted to them. It is important to me to facilitate a safe, organized, and unified community through leading by example of clear communication and a positive attitude. Creating this kind of environment, where my peers can embrace this creativity as their authentic self is my ultimate goal as a stage manager.
I approach every production with a growth mindset, looking for ways to improve my own work and ensure the actors and crew are mentally and physically safe and comfortable.

team work
Nothing is truer in theatre than we are better together. I strive to build an environment of collaboration, knowing that a key part of the role of stage manager is making sure all teams are communicating. This includes active listening, to gain clarity and learn from feedback. Working together effectively makes our production excellent!
Solving problems
Quick-thinking adaptability is another cornerstone of being an effective stage manager. And the process of rehearsal and live theatre provides many opportunities! When met with a challenge, I see an opportunity to learn and tap into creative thinking as an individual and community.
ENCOURAGING community
Even as an introvert, I’ve learned the importance of community. Those of us in theatre have this built-in, but it still takes intentionality to build. I work to nurture community through inclusivity, helpfulness, observance of my teammates’ needs, and being mindful of safety and wellness.
